Pediatric Nutrition Counseling

Poor growth, picky eating, GI concerns (constipation/ diarrhea), MASLD, IBS, low FODMAP, milk protein allergy, EOE, food allergies, tube feeding support, blended tube feedings, IBD, toddler’s diarrhea, functional abdominal pain

Eating Disorder Nutrition Counseling

Comprehensive eating disorder treatment including ARFID, anorexia, binge eating disorder, and bulimia.

Insurance Coverage

Prior to your visit I suggest giving your insurance company a call to review if nutrition counseling is covered on your plan. Many clients will pay $0 out of pocket. I have an insurance script for you to use that will be sent to you through my client portal.

Initial Session

Up to 85 minutes session

Each nutrition visit is individualized for your or your child’s needs. We can cover any nutrition topic on your mind, from picky eating to breastfeeding support and pre/postpartum nutrition to poor growth to eating disorders. We work together to come up with a realistic plan for you and your family, focusing on your short term and long term goals.

Follow Up Session

40 minute sessions

Each follow-up visit we will review goals that were previously set and discuss what is working for your family. We will review any lab work, necessary supplements, and diet review. I collaborate with you or your child’s medical and mental health team to make a comprehensive plan.

What Can I Expect After Booking?

  • You will receive a confirmation email from my client portal called Simple Practice after we talk through email or phone.

  • I highly suggest calling your insurance to see if nutrition counseling is a covered benefit. I have a script for you to use to call your insurance company. You will get this script through your client portal. The phone number is found on the back of your insurance card.

  • All visits are done virtually, all you need access to is a smartphone or laptop in order to join the visit!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A dietitian has at least a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from a University approved by the Accredited Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), completes an accredited year long internship and then must pass the national licensing examination to acquire the RD credentials. Dietitians are required to obtain CEUs on a regular basis in order to maintain their credentials.

    A Nutritionist includes a wide range of people and education levels. Some nutritionists may have a bachelor's degree in nutrition while some may have a certificate from a weekend program. ‘Nutritionist’ is not a regulated term. Whereas, Registered Dietitian, like Medical Doctor (MD) or Physical Therapist (PT), are regulated.

    Simply put, someone can not call themselves a dietitian if you are not credentialed as one. Whereas anyone can call themselves a nutritionist.

  • The initial session is about 75-90 minutes. We will discuss your medical and health history, lifestyle, sleep, stress, physical activity, and explore your relationship with food, body and exercise. We will talk about your long and short term goals. At the end of the session we will establish a plan of action that you feel comfortable with so that you can confidently move towards your goals.

    Follow ups are typically around 45-60 minutes. During our follow-up sessions, we will discuss any challenges and wins you may have experienced during the week.. At the end of each session, we will set 1-2 goals to move you closer to a life free from diets, food guilt and body shame.

    To provide continued support each patient/client will have access to our HIPAA compliant Practice Better patient portal, an Online Journal for food and mood tracking and easy chat access for quick questions between sessions.

  • A recent weight and height from your healthcare provider. Please consider having your pediatrician or healthcare provider fax over any pertinent/recent medical documentation.

  • Yes! I accept Aetna, UHC, Cigna plans.

  • Our self pay rate is $180 per initial visit and $80 per followup visit

  • I am typically able to make initial appointments within 2 -4 weeks.
